Food c0mments!

For this post, I'm going to talk about what I had for lunch. This is for my English homework for school. I ate at outside, and I bought a plate of "Bak Chor Mee", or spicy noodles with minced pork, mushroom, fried dumpliings, little bits of fried pork lard and liver(if you want it). Not surprisingly, a lot of the ingredients for this particular food are fried. Now to elaborate more on this. The vendors, wherever you go to buy this dish, will always serve the noodles as wide, flat strips. I don't know why they do that, maybe it's tradition? Also, the minced pork is fried. Usually, they will also cook the mushrooms in vinegar, I think, to give it its flavour. As an added bonus, there is always soup. Most people now will probably be thinking,"Why is this guy talking about this?" Well,I'm just talking about what I ate for lunch and may be advertising a bit for this dish,huh. Now, back to topic.However, although this dish is extremely delicious, it is also quite unhealthy, that's why I only eat it occasionally. A lot of oil is used to cook this dish, as many ingredients need to be fried, especially the pork lard and noodles. Also,the soup is unhealthy as it contains a lot of MSG, or Monosodium glutamate. This MSG, is although it enhances the flavour of your food, is a chemical, and if too much of it is eaten, it will cause and worsen asthmatic problems, and may probably cause obesity as it makes the food ADDICTIVE! See, the word came out again.


Some people will probably be thinking where this dish came about.The dish is of Teochew origin and is eaten in Chaoshan (China), Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. They are usually served tossed in a sauce (often referred to as "dry", or tah in).
